Only the videos you said yes to.
VidyaPop is a calm video app for children. You pick the YouTube videos and channels, VidyaPop checks them, and your child sees nothing else. No endless feed, no surprise recommendations, just the good stuff, with gentle limits.
Three steps. Then just watch them learn.
You stay in charge without hovering. VidyaPop does the checking, and nothing reaches your child until you say yes.
Pick what's welcome
Paste a video link, add a channel you trust, or begin with our starter pack of well-known learning channels.
Your child can help too: they send a wish like "dinosaurs!", and you choose the videos.
VidyaPop checks it
Firm safety rules come first: age-restricted, live and non-embeddable videos are turned away automatically. A helper then suggests a topic, an age range and whether it's for learning, a story, fun or a game.
The helper only suggests. It can never approve a video on its own.
You say yes
Approve with a tap and the video appears on your child's screen. Change your mind later and it's gone just as quickly.
Every approval is recorded, so you can always see who allowed what, and when.
Calm controls for busy parents
Set it up once in a few minutes. After that, VidyaPop quietly keeps screen time the way you like it.
Every video is your call
Nothing plays until you approve it. Safety rules can't be switched off by accident, not even with a parent approval.
Time that makes sense
Give learning, stories, fun and games each their own daily minutes. When time's up, a video simply says "Back tomorrow".
Learning comes first
Only learning videos play on by themselves. The home feed never shows two "just for fun" videos in a row, and it has an end.
Gentle breaks
After 20 minutes of watching in a row (you choose the time), a friendly break card invites a stretch and a sip of water.
A profile for everyone
Up to 4 children, each with their own age, favourites and history, plus your own parent profile locked with a PIN.
Know what they watch
Watch history, wishes and approvals in one place. Export a backup of your choices any time and bring them back later.
A space that feels like theirs
Big, friendly buttons, their own name on the screen, and only videos a grown-up has already said yes to.
Make a wishWant more about space or sharks? Tap Wish and ask. A grown-up finds great videos and says yes.
Keep your favouritesTap the heart and your best videos wait for you under Mine.

How families use VidyaPop
The homework helper
School project on volcanoes due Friday? Add three good explainers tonight. Tomorrow they're waiting on your child's home screen, right where they look first.
School-age childrenBedtime stories that end
Allow 20 minutes of stories. When they're done, the next story says "Back tomorrow". No arguing with an algorithm that always has one more.
Little ones, 3 to 6One tablet, three children
Each child opens their own profile. The five-year-old gets picture-book stories, the ten-year-old gets science experiments, and neither sees the other's videos.
Siblings sharing a deviceWhen someone else is babysitting
Grandparents or a sitter can hand over the tablet without a single worry. Your rules and your approved list come with the profile, wherever it's opened.
Peace of mind for parentsWhy not just a regular video app?
Most video apps are built to keep everyone watching. VidyaPop is built to help children watch well, and then stop.
| Typical video apps | VidyaPop | |
|---|---|---|
| Who decides what plays | A recommendation algorithm | You, video by video |
| The home screen | An endless, ever-changing feed | Your approved videos, and the feed ends |
| Autoplay | Whatever comes next | Only learning videos |
| Short-form clips | Everywhere, one after another | Off, unless you turn them on |
| Search | The whole platform | Only your approved list |
| Time limits | One overall timer, if any | Daily minutes per kind of video, plus breaks |
Safe by default. Private by design.
When VidyaPop isn't sure about a video, it waits for you. That's the whole idea.
Honest note: videos play in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, and YouTube may show its own ads on some videos. VidyaPop doesn't add ads of its own.
Nothing plays without your yesEvery video starts out blocked. The safety rules are checked again each time a video starts, so a stricter rule applies straight away.
No accounts for childrenKids get a profile with a nickname and an age. No email, no real name, no photo, no birthday.
No chat, comments or sharingChildren can't talk to strangers, post anything or share videos from inside VidyaPop.
No trackers, no data sellingNo analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell or share personal data. This page doesn't use cookies either.
Grown-up areas stay grown-upThe parent profile is locked with a PIN, and in the Android app, links inside the player can't lead out of VidyaPop.
Good questions from parents
Where do the videos come from?
From YouTube, through YouTube's official embedded player. VidyaPop never downloads or copies videos. It only decides which ones your child is allowed to see.
Can my child search all of YouTube?
No. Search in VidyaPop only looks through the videos you've approved. Your child can ask for something new with a wish, and you decide.
Will my child see ads?
VidyaPop doesn't show ads of its own. Because videos play in YouTube's player, YouTube may show its own ads on some videos, following its rules for content made for children.
Does a computer decide what's safe?
Partly, and only in one direction. Firm rules automatically block things like age-restricted or live videos, and a helper suggests a topic and age range. Neither can approve a video. That's always you.
What does "Back tomorrow" mean?
When today's minutes for stories, fun or games are used up, those videos stay visible but greyed out with "Back tomorrow". Your child knows it's still there, so there's no surprise and less fuss.
What about YouTube Shorts?
Shorts are switched off by default. If you turn them on, they only appear in a separate Bites section, and still only the ones you approved.
Which devices does it work on?
Android phones and tablets, TVs with a remote, and any modern web browser. One parent account covers the whole family, with up to 4 child profiles.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes. Sign in with Google, set your parent PIN, add a profile for each child, then approve some videos or start with the starter pack of well-known learning channels.
